With the strong support of Ambassador Derckx, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency – RVO granted assistance for the formulation of the Coastal Defense Strategy for Tacloban City and Palo which was conducted by PRA in partnership with a consortium of Dutch Experts in 2015. The strategy was formulated to protect the coastal areas of Tacloban City and Palo from storm surges and coastal flooding similar to the destruction brought about by Typhoon Yolanda in November 2013. The PRA General Manager and CEO Atty. Janilo E. Rubiato expressed appreciation to the Ambassador and highlighted the established collaboration of the PRA with the Netherlands Embassy and for her unwavering support to the Agency’s goals particularly with the integration of coastal defense in reclamation projects.
