The Philippine Reclamation Authority was hailed as the first runner up of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Champion for the Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) sector during the 2022 FOI Awards Virtual Ceremony.  


The FOI Awards, organized by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), serves as a stage for the celebration of government transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in the country. The virtual ceremony was livestreamed on Facebook on 25 November 2022 at 1:00 p.m. 

With the theme “Championing access to information towards a connected, empowered, and inclusive nation”, PRA joins the following in the roster of 2022 GOCC FOI Champions: 

FOI Champion: National Housing Authority (NHA) 

1st Runner-up: Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) 

2nd Runner-up: Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC)

Atty. Alberto C. Agra, Chairman of the PRA Governing Board, accepted the award on behalf of PRA. His acceptance speech highlighted the Agency’s absolute resolve in the transparent and inclusive delivery of PRA’s mandates. 

In 2021, the PRA received the FOI Rising Star Award in recognition of the exemplified progress of the Agency in the implementation of the FOI program.  

The PRA, together with all its personnel, supports the national government’s advocacy to ensure that the constitutional right to information is observed in service of the Filipino people. In practice, the award is reflective of PRA’s corporate values which embodies accountability, excellence, and responsiveness to society’s needs.
