Co-sponsored by the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), the PRA participated in the Asian Science Deans Forum (ASDF) on July 8-12, 2024, at the Grand Ballroom, Crimson Hotel, Filinvest City, Manila.

As represented by Corporate Planning Division Manager Ynna Margarita Yalong-Gelomina and Jan Miguel Santos, the ASDF 2024 is hosted by Mapúa University and attended by various Asian universities, including Philippine government institutions such as the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

With the theme “Fostering Collaboration in Science and Technology for Sustainability,” the ASDF serves as a venue for international research collaboration and academic networking in science and technology among Asian universities.

The 5-day forum included educational and city tours and various plenary sessions covering topics such as health research and ethics, environmental science (planet, people, and space), renewable energy (biomass, hydro, geothermal, ocean, solar, and wind), digital transformation (artificial intelligence and generative AI), responsible consumption and production, and the crossroads of science in business and human health.

The SDGs on good jobs and economic growth, innovation and infrastructure, sustainable cities and communities, and climate action are deeply integrated into PRA’s mission and vision. These goals are advanced through PRA’s programs, activities, and projects focused on coastal management, sustainable livelihood, environmental monitoring and compliance, among others.
