BACOOR CITY, Cavite Jun 23 (PIA) — The Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) and joint partner Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) coordinated its efforts to extend assistance to their countrymen especially during COVID-19 pandemic.

With the aim to provide continuous, smooth passage to fast-track emergency response, a complimentary passage on the toll roads was extended to medical practitioners and to the Department of Transportation (DoTr) buses used to transport healthcare workers.

Likewise, RFID stickers were given to ambulances and other emergency vehicles of the local government units and host barangays along the expressways.

PRA General Manager Atty. Janilo Rubiato said, “We salute our frontliners for their unwavering service to the Filipino people. We are one with the government in ensuring that essential goods and services are safe when they access CAVITEX.”

Meanwhile, a 3,200 sqm area acquired right-of-way for C-5 Link Segment 2 that is located across the PEA Tollway Corporation compound was allowed for use as checkpoint to assist the Joint Task-Force COVID Shield operations.

Further, other initiatives include the construction, mobilization and set-up of a multi-purpose shed with utilities amounting to Php150,000.00 for the use of the Philippine Navy frontliners. Donation of reflectorized vests for Philippine Navy Fleet Marine Ready Force to keep them safe as they man checkpoints to monitor motorists going in and coming out of Cavite, Laguna and Metro Manila.

“CAVITEX with our joint venture partner PRA shall continue to extend help to support and boost the morale of our partners in government during this difficult time,” said CIC President and General Manager Roberto V. Bontia.

CIC and PRA in close coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging and Infectious Disease, assure concerned government agencies and especially the public of their continued support for the continuous and unhampered flow of goods and services along the expressways in the fight against this pandemic.
